Dwight Howard Scoring Records: Did He Ever Score 84 Points?
While Howard did put up dominant numbers across the Pacific, the real box scores look quite different from the viral fabrications.
Howard made his highly anticipated Taiwan T1 League debut on November 19, 2022, against the New Taipei CTBC DEA. Playing 48 minutes, he rallied the Leopards from a 21-point deficit to secure a thrilling 120-115 overtime victory. The actual line was exceptional: 38 points, 25 rebounds, 9 assists, and 4 blocks while shooting 14-of-32 from the field.
He played with total offensive freedom, taking ten three-point attempts and bringing the ball up the floor as a point-center. A week later, he logged another double-double with 23 points and 9 rebounds. Across his tenure with the Leopards, Howard averaged 23.2 points, 16.2 rebounds, and 5.0 assists per game over 20 appearances. Stellar production, certainly, but nowhere near the mythical 84-point threshold.
