By Maya Lin-Takahashi
When his NBA tenure closed following his stint with the Nets, Harvey took his physical interior play across the globe. Between 2005 and 2011, he played professionally in top-tier leagues across Europe and Asia, suiting up for franchises in Greece, Turkey, Puerto Rico, and the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA). Harvey consistently led foreign clubs in rebounding metrics, showcasing the work ethic that defined his youth.
After retiring from active competition, Harvey stepped away from public life to prioritize his family and mentor youth athletes. Aniya grew up watching her father transition from high-stakes professional sports into private domestic life. Friends and peers noted that this environment fostered Aniya's independence. She learned how to handle pressure early, surrounded by the discipline required of a touring pro athlete.
