Demonology Ghost Patch Notes: How Recent Updates Changed the Shadow

The most severe change involves the Shadow's hunting phase. Historically, if your team maintained decent sanity drain mechanics by chugging sanity pills and keeping hallway lights powered, the hunt threshold remained locked at 35%. The new patch notes updates introduce an isolated hunt trigger: if an investigator remains separated in the dark for more than 15 seconds, the threshold leaps to 65%.
When an aggressive hunt initiates, running blindly down a corridor is lethal. The Shadow now accelerates continuously while holding unbroken line of sight. Within four seconds of an open chase, its movement speed outpaces standard player sprint stamina.
Breaking line of sight immediately is mandatory. Players must break vision around two consecutive hard corners, duck into rooms without glass panes, and extinguish all active electronics. Leaving a flashlight, EMF reader, or video camera toggled on inside a hiding locker acts as a homing beacon. The entity will rip open closet doors without hesitation if handheld gear emits static noise nearby.
