Demon Slayer Cups & Buckets Buying Guide: Prices, Theaters, and Availability
By Maya Lin-Takahashi
The intersection of anime fandom and scarce collectibles created instant scalping pressure. Within hours of opening night screenings, complete sets of AMC and Regal cups appeared on Mercari and eBay at markups exceeding 200% to 300% of retail value. Single Tanjiro toppers regularly commanded $35.00 before shipping fees, while the complete AMC four-character ensemble reached upwards of $110.00.
Buyers looking to avoid secondary markups can use several practical methods:
Most major theater chains restock their concession counters early Tuesday mornings ahead of discount ticket days. Calling a local theater manager directly on Monday afternoon provides the clearest read on whether second-wave deliveries are scheduled. Many theater locations permit patrons to purchase concessions without buying an admission ticket, provided they approach the counter outside peak showtime hours. Always inspect toppers at the register; the fragile plastic swords on Tanjiro and Zenitsu figurines are prone to bending inside bulk theater shipping boxes.
