Complete Parentvue San Marcos Setup Guide: Activation Keys, Mobile App, and Account Recovery

An essential feature on Complete Parentvue San Marcos Setup Guide: Activation Keys, Mobile App, and Account Recovery, including critical updates.

Self-registration without prior school involvement is disabled across the district to protect student records. Every custodial guardian must acquire an individual ParentVUE account activation key.

The district distributes these activation documents during primary enrollment or by request through the school front office. The key is tied directly to your legal guardian profile within the Synergy student information system.

Activation Process:

[School Office Verification] ➔ [Receive Activation Letter] ➔ [Access parentvue.smusd.org]

➔ [Accept Privacy Policy] ➔ [Input Legal Name & Key] ➔ [Create Username & Password]

To complete activation:

1. Open your browser and navigate to the official SMUSD ParentVUE portal link.
2. Select "I am a parent" from the main landing screen.
3. Click the "Activate Account" button located at the base of the login window.
4. Review and accept the Privacy Statement and Use Agreement. Edupoint requires this acknowledgement before granting write-access to household information.
5. Enter your legal first name, legal last name, and the exact activation key as printed on your district letter. The system is case-sensitive and rejects names that do not match the district's enrollment paperwork.
6. Choose a permanent username, set a secure password (minimum 8 characters with alphanumeric requirements), and enter your primary email address.

Guardians with multiple children enrolled in SMUSD, for example, one student at San Elijo Middle School and another at San Marcos High, only need to execute this process once. The system maps all siblings tied to the parent's unique household identifier into a single dashboard.
