Lomas Santa Fe Executive does not fit the mundane stereotype of an executive track. Renowned architect William Bell designed the layout, utilizing the natural canyon ridges and rolling topography of Solana Beach to build legitimate shotmaking requirements into every hole.
Playing at a par of 56 across 18 holes, the course features two par 4s alongside 16 diverse par 3s. Distances range from short wedges over protected ravines to long irons requiring precise trajectory control to hold small, sloping putting surfaces. Ocean breezes regularly dictate club selection, forcing players to account for one or two extra clubs on afternoon approaches.
Bell created an environment where pure ball striking matters far more than raw driver speed. Greens are contoured with subtle breaks that challenge even scratch players, explaining why members of nearby private clubs frequently visit to tune their approach play.
