Bryce Adair Crash Timeline: How the Memorial Tournament Tragedy Unfolded
By Chloe Bennett
Televised golf requires an enormous logistical footprint. While viewers see immaculate greens, smooth transitions, and polished commentary, behind every broadcast lies a massive traveling caravan of engineers, technical directors, and production assistants. Adair worked at the absolute center of that apparatus for CBS Sports.
Production assistants are the engine of live sports coverage. They coordinate feed routing, move critical equipment between remote broadcast trucks, manage talent needs, and solve operational emergencies on the fly. Those working the Memorial Tournament at Muirfield Village face long days that often stretch past 14 hours. Adair arrived in Dublin to fulfill those responsibilities, known among his peers for an easygoing demeanor and a steady hand during intense live windows.
His death rippled immediately through the compound outside Columbus. Production trailers typically humming with countdown cues and graphics updates went quiet as news of the crash circulated across crew shifts.
