Austin and Ally Cast Today: Laura Marano’s Stage Debut and Recent Milestones
By Alexander Ross
Ross Lynch’s post-Disney trajectory took an immediate, deliberate detour into unsettling character work. His performance as teenage serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer in the 2017 biographical drama My Friend Dahmer severed his ties to clean-cut sitcom stardom overnight. He followed that with a two-year run as Harvey Kinkle in Netflix’s Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.
Music, however, remains his primary creative vehicle. Alongside his brother Rocky Lynch, Ross retired their family band R5 and established The Driver Era in 2018. Operating largely without the machinery of mainstream pop radio, the duo cultivated an intensely dedicated international fan base through relentless touring and infectious, bass-heavy alt-pop tracks.
By 2026, The Driver Era's touring schedule regularly hits venues with capacities exceeding 10,000 attendees across South America, Europe, and Asia. Lynch has managed what few former Disney leads accomplish: commanding critical respect in the alternative rock scene while maintaining full autonomy over songwriting, touring schedules, and visual direction.
Alexander Ross has covered the video game industry for a decade, writing deep dives on game design, esports tournaments, VR developments, and gaming culture.
