Are Jada Williams and Mikey Williams Related? the Truth Behind the Viral Hoops Rumor
By Robert Thorne
Following their prep careers, their athletic lives unfolded in radically different environments.
Jada Williams committed initially to UCLA before reopening her recruitment and signing with head coach Adia Barnes at Arizona. Entering Tucson, she stepped directly into a starting role for the Arizona Wildcats women's basketball program. Williams earned Pac-12 All-Freshman honors, serving as the team's floor general, late-game shot-maker, and emotional engine. Her trajectory remained steady, defined by collegiate leadership and high-major Division I success.
Mikey Williams endured a turbulent transition to college. After committing to Penny Hardaway at the University of Memphis, legal complications in California sidelined his freshman campaign before he ever played a minute for the Tigers. Following the resolution of his legal matters via a plea agreement, he entered the NCAA transfer portal and landed at the University of Central Florida (UCF), working to rebuild his on-court reputation in the Big 12.
Their divergent college careers highlight how two high school sensations, grouped together by online gossip, share little beyond their surname and early viral exposure.
