Arc Raiders Map Update Timeline: When Frozen Trail and Free Weekend Go Live
By Sarah Jenkins
Embark Studios has coordinated a staged deployment strategy designed to stress-test regional matchmaking infrastructure while gathering telemetry on new extraction zones. The schedule centers on an unrestricted trial window in early October, followed by server recalibrations and the permanent patch rollout.
| Event Phase | Active Window | Platform Availability | Core Focus |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pre-Load Window | October 6, 2026 (10:00 AM PT) | PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S | Asset distribution and client verification |
| Free Weekend Trial | October 8, 11, 2026 | Crossplay enabled (All platforms) | Public stress test, Frozen Trail map debut |
| Balance Patch 1.4 | October 15, 2026 | PC, Console back-end | Extraction timer tweaks, weapon tuning |
| Full Content Drop | Late October 2026 | Live Global Servers | New missions, ranked leaderboards, elite machines |
The trial weekend serves a double purpose. It provides newcomers an uninhibited entry point without purchasing entry keys, while allowing the production team to balance spawn frequencies for new heavy machine types under peak server load.
